The steps the superyacht industry is taking to ensure future prosperity
METSTRADE 2019, which will take place from 19-21 November, is the world’s largest and most visited B2B leisure marine equipment show, so it comes as no surprise that The Superyacht Group will be present, and running The Superyacht Forum alongside this influential show. Returning to the RAI Amsterdam, the two events will run harmoniously, bringing together the industry’s CEO’s, decision-makers, advisors and influencers. This year, one of the superyacht industry’s most longstanding events partnerships will be looking to the future, with agendas that promise to build for the next generation.
The Young Professionals Club
The theme for The Superyacht Forum in association with METSTRADE is focused on the next generation of individuals, innovations and processes that will lay the foundations for our industry’s future prosperity. To compliment this theme, the METSTRADE Young Professionals Club (YPC) will provide a space within METSTRADE entirely dedicated to those who will be at the forefront of our industry in years to come. This club will offer both an on- and offline environment to facilitate networking amongst young professionals from a diverse array of backgrounds within the industry. The dedicated members-only lounge at the METSRADE showroom promises to provide the ultimate face-to-face environment to encounter peers and gather inspiration from leading industry practitioners.
Rising stars
Further to the event, the members-only Facebook group offers an online platform for members to stay in touch with peers, discuss challenges and to continue strengthening their network within the leisure marine industry. In addition to this, there is also the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Boat Builder Awards, which is held during the event, focusing on rewarding talent within the new generation of boat builders and industry professionals.
As the superyacht industry continues to experience a generational shift in wealth, it has recognised the need for events such as these and they play a key role in informing the industry on the best ways of engaging with the customers of tomorrow.
